Drs. Tolbert and Greylock are the most experienced and
qualified orthotic providers in Southwestern Ontario.
Orthopedically, we look at the biomechanics of the locomotor
system. This means the function of your back, hips, knees,
ankles and feet, which are intrinsically related.
Orthotics, invented by Podiatrists, correct foot function
and thereby relieve many foot conditions such as heel spurs,
plantar fasciitis, bunions, calluses, and metatarsal pain.
They also relieve many problems above the feet by correcting
the foundation angles of the knees, hips, and back. Many
patients attend our office to see if orthotic therapy would
help painful conditions in those areas.
It should be known that all
orthotics are not the same. We use many laboratories
in the United States and Canada, as well as our in-house
laboratory to obtain the most appropriate orthotic for the
patient's individual condition. We follow-up on all
devices to make sure they are as effective as possible.
Occasionally, adjustments must be made to the devise to
allow for the patient's tolerance to correction.
Custom Shoes are often the
answer to deformities and arthritic conditions where
orthotics are not effective or possible. We provide
custom shoes by casting the foot and sending those casts to
the Custom Shoe maker most suitable for the type shoe
needed. We carry proper orthopedic and style shoes
which have extra depth to accommodate orthotics and some
foot deformities.
